Connecting live camera feeds, AI, and role-based access in one platform
Areaionx needed to bring together live video from IP cameras, AI-assisted features, and a role-based system so different users could see only what was relevant to them — across both a web dashboard and a mobile app.
My role: integration and system architecture
As part of my role, I contributed to Areaionx's backend and integration layer: connecting GPT and Ollama (a locally-hosted LLM) into the platform, building the backend for live-video streaming from IP cameras, implementing role-based access control (RBAC), and building the responsive web frontend and an Android app with push notifications. The AI models used in the product were developed by a teammate — my focus was integrating them into the system and the surrounding architecture.

Areaionx is made up of three connected pieces:
Edge
This sub-product is a Flutter mobile app for home automation, built to run against Raspberry Pi-based edge hardware. It gives users a way to configure and monitor edge devices directly from their phone.
Mobile
This is the primary Flutter mobile app that connects to the Areaionx backend — both the backend and this app were built as part of my role, giving users live monitoring, reports, and notifications on the go.
Web
This covers the backend and the responsive web frontend, giving users a full dashboard view of live camera feeds, reports, and account settings from a browser.
What I worked with
Backend integration work, GPT and Ollama for AI features, Firebase Cloud Messaging for mobile notifications, and Cloudflare for delivery — kept here at a high level, without internal infrastructure specifics.
A production system with AI, live video, and role-based access
Areaionx runs as a live product with AI-assisted features, real-time video from IP cameras, and access control tailored to different user roles, across a web dashboard and a mobile app.
